After a summer of scandal, Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson are back on camera together.
The former castmates, who were at the center of a controversial sexual assault allegation, reunited on Monday night during the “Bachelor in Paradise” finale.
Olympios joined host Chris Harrison first for a one-on-one.
“The response has been good. I think a lot of, you know, of the misinformation and the misunderstandings were explained,” she replied to Harrison’s question about the feedback from the sex scandal.
“And, you know, there’s no hard feelings between me and DeMario. And I always wish him well and the best.”
The ABC show halted production after a drunken hookup between Olympios and Jackson.
Olympios, who originally said she was a victim and didn’t remember the encounter, said last month that she and her team had gotten “to the bottom of what had occurred” and were ending their own investigation.
“I felt victimized by the fact that others were judging me through conflicting and unsubstantiated reports, while I myself had no recollection of the events that transpired,” she said in the statement. “My team’s investigation into this matter has now been completed to my satisfaction.”
Warner Bros. also cleared Jackson of any wrongdoing and production resumed.
“It’s been an interesting summer. You know, uh, you know, throughout the whole time, I just wanted to make sure that you were all right,” Jackson told Olympios.
“I know on my end it was kind of crazy, being in the middle of all of this, you know, madness. And, uh, I’m just happy that you’re doing well.”
Olympios and Jackson said they hadn’t spoken since they were sent home from the show after the hookup.
“I do wish we could have communicated, reached out to each other. I think It would have been a lot easier on both of us,” Olympios said.
“You know, everybody felt like they were, like, experts on our lives and experts on the situation and knew exactly what happened, and this and that. And they didn’t. Nobody did.”
Jackson said he was excited to put the allegations behind him and move on.
“I’m just happy to kind of be putting this past us and for our families to no longer suffer. That’s been, like, a very trying time,” he said.
Both reality stars said they were headed back to therapy after appearing on the finale special.
“My therapist has been my homey throughout all of this,” Jackson said.
“For me, even though I know who I was, I kind of lost that, and I lost touch of my, like, happiness, my smile. So I’m just trying to not be as weird and awkward as I, you know, am in public ’cause everybody’s looking at you.”
Olympios also said she was trying to get back to her “old self,” including designing a new fashion line.
The two ended the reunion on a hug and well wishes for each other.
“I wish you happiness. I hope that someday we can not be connected in this very, very, like, with this, like, nasty cloud over us,” Jackson said.
“I think the cloud has cleared,” Olympios responded.
