Talk about a sour Apple.
Before his big night, Chris Martin’s daughter Apple warned the Coldplay frontman that his Super Bowl 50 halftime performance could be the source of Internet memes.
And boy, was she right.
The British singer was not only upstaged by Beyonce and Bruno Mars during his band’s headlining performance on Sunday but judging by a slew of hilarious memes, he also became the butt of many jokes.
Dubbed the “Left Shark” of the Super Bowl — a reference to Katy Perry’s dancing left sharks from last year’s big game — most of the photoshopped memes portray Martin looking like he’s trying to peek through from behind Bey and Mars. In another silly entry, he’s whited out completely.
And in another one making the rounds, his face is erased and replaced by a crying picture of former Bulls star Michael Jordan.

The jokes continued, with users calling Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex the new “Poor Michelle” comparing him to Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams.
Even Actress Anna Kendrick joined into the fun when she tweeted, “Even Chris Martin is like, what am I doing here?”
At least, Martin had his biggest fans in the stadium.
During his performance, ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their two kids — Apple, 11, and Moses, 9, — were photographed cheering for the “Paradise” singer from their VIP box.
Martin, who appears on Feb. 25 cover of Rolling Stone, said his divorce, aka 2014’s “concious uncoupling” from Paltrow, “weird.”
“I don’t think about that word [divorce] I don’t see it that way. I see it as more like you meet someone, you have some time together and things just move through.”
He also noted that Bey, a longtime friend of the couple, once rejected his song called “Hook Up” in the “sweetest way possible.”
“She told me, ‘I really like you, but this is awful.'”
