Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood mock President Trump at CMAs

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood had no time for the Country Music Association’s guidelines.

The CMA hosts came out swinging Wednesday night with a response to a pre-show warning that press was to avoid topics including guns and the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.

“Now, Brad, I don’t know if you’ve heard about this, but the CMA has given us some guidelines with specific topics to avoid,” Underwood said. “So we can’t be doing any silly little songs because this year’s show is a politics free zone.”

Paisley, however, wasn’t interested in staying away from current events, instead offering songs such as “Way Down Yonder on the Scaramucci,” “She Wrote a Memoir, Hillary’s Back” and “Stand By Your Manafort.”

“Maybe next time he’ll think before he tweets,” the two sang.

But one song did get through the censors: a parody of Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” about President Trump.

“Right now, he’s probably in his PJs, watching cable news, reaching for his cellphone. He’s probably asking Siri how in the hell you spell Pocahontas. In the middle of the night from the privacy of a good-plated White House toilet seat, he writes little Bob Corker, NFL and covfefe. And it’s fun to watch until little rocket man starts a nuclear war. Maybe next time he’ll think before he tweets.”
