Ben Affleck revealed this enormous back tattoo on the set of “Live by Night.”
Recently single actor Ben Affleck is signifying his rebirth in a major way.
The 43-year-old star flashed an enormous, full-back tattoo of a colorful phoenix on the set of his new movie, “Live by Night.”
While it’s not yet confirmed that the eye-popping ink is real, Affleck unintentionally shared a small peek at the tattoo as he loaded up his car in July — three months before production for the movie began.
A source told Us Weekly that the tattoo is real, saying: “He got it done at home recently.”
Affleck’s tattoo was first seen in July as the actor loaded up his car.
A rep for Affleck has not yet responded to a request for comment.
If the colossal tat is indeed authentic, it could symbolize a new beginning for Affleck following his separation from Jennifer Garner in June. The legend of the phoenix refers to a mythical bird that obtains new life after death by re-emerging from its ashes.
Affleck was also seen earlier in the week linking hands with his co-star, Sienna Miller, on set.
The 33-year-old Miller was dolled up in her old-fashioned get-up for the movie, which follows a bootlegger-turned-gangster in the 1920s, but Affleck was wearing street clothes.
Affleck has mostly stayed out of the spotlight in recent months since reports emerged that he had cheated on Garner, the mother of his three children, with the family nanny, Christine Ouzounian — aside from promoting his highly anticipated superhero blockbuster, “Batman V Superman,” which premieres in March.
“Live by Night,” meanwhile, is set to hit theaters in 2017.
