A group of fraternity members accused of beating another student “within an inch of his life” grinned for the cameras while booked on a slew of charges, one including felony assault.

The five University of Mississippi students were arrested Friday after Jeremy Boyle was found suffering a concussion, broken teeth, ear drum, bruised lung, ribs and groin, his grandfather said.

“They descended upon him and beat him unmercifully. Beat him within an inch of his life,” Robert Boyle told WMC-TV of his grandson.

The Sigma Pi member heard a noise outside his fraternity house on Oct. 6 when he stepped outside the check it out, his grandfather said.

Jeremy Boyle was jumped by the five men after stepping outside the Sigma Pi house in Oxford, Mississippi earlier this month, his family said.Google

That’s when he was allegedly jumped by five Pi Kappa Alpha members who barbarically beat him to a pulp.

The Daily Mississippian, citing an unidentified source, said one of the men was wearing a black facemask while the others were in “pledge attire” from another fraternity.

Tucker Steil, James Basile, Christian Guy, Kyle Hughes, and Austin Rice were booked into the Lafayette County Jail, the Mississippian reported.

Steil, a general studies major, faces the most serious charge of felony-level assault while Basile, a business student, faces charges of assault, hazing and larceny.

Guy and Hughes, who are business majors, along with Rice, who’s an engineering student, were arrested on charges of larceny.

Rice, reached by the Daily News Thursday, called media reports on the incident “not accurate on all the roles” but declined further comment.

Requests for comment from the university and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity were not immediately returned.
