2 cops shot, suspect and bystander killed in Philly shootout

At least two officers were injured and one suspect killed after torrents of gunfire rang out in Philadelphia late Friday, police said.

Authorities received reports of shots fired on the west side of the city around 11:20 p.m., ABC6 reported.

Officers initially responded to the area of 52nd and Spruce Sts.

But once they arrived, shots rang out a couple of blocks away.

Officers descending on the second scene shot and killed one suspect and put another in custody, investigators said.

Two officers were injured during that exchange. Both were rushed to an area hospital where they were in stable condition early Saturday.

The circumstances of the shootings remained unknown early Saturday.
